What this calculator gives you
One birth date, three core numbers. Each one links to a full guide so you can go as deep as you want:
- Your Life Path number, the core energy you carry through life.
- Your Chinese zodiac sign and element, with the correct new-year boundary.
- Your personal year, the season you are personally moving through right now.
How to calculate your Life Path number
Your Life Path is the single most important number in numerology, and the math is simple. Take your full birth date and add every digit together, then reduce to one digit. The only exception is the master numbers 11, 22, and 33, which you keep instead of reducing.
Worked example, March 14, 1988: 3 plus 1 plus 4 plus 1 plus 9 plus 8 plus 8 is 34, and 3 plus 4 is 7. That birth date is a Life Path 7, the genius. The calculator above does this for you instantly and keeps the master numbers intact.
How your Chinese zodiac sign works
The Chinese zodiac runs on a twelve-year cycle, one animal per year, each carrying one of five elements. The catch most calculators get wrong: the sign turns over at Chinese New Year, not January 1, so a late-January or early-February birthday often belongs to the previous year's animal. This calculator uses the exact new-year date for your birth year, so your sign and element come out right. Note that GG33 uses the Cat where Western charts use the Rabbit.
How your personal year works
Where the Life Path is fixed for life, your personal year changes every year. You find it by adding your birth month and birth day to the current year, then reducing to a single digit. It runs in a nine-year cycle, from a 1 year of new beginnings to a 9 year of endings, and it tells you whether right now is a season to start, build, change, or release.
Example birth dates
A few sample dates run through the GG33 method, with the personal year shown for 2026:
| Birth date | Life Path | Chinese sign | 2026 Personal Year |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jan 1, 1990 | 3 | Earth Snake | 3 |
| Jul 4, 1985 | 7 | Wood Ox | 3 |
| Dec 25, 2000 | 3 | Metal Dragon | 2 |
| Mar 14, 1988 | 7 | Earth Dragon | 9 |
Why GG33 reads numbers differently
Most numerology calculators hand you a number and a generic paragraph. Gary reads numbers as energy and timing. The same Life Path that tells you who you are works with your personal year and your Chinese sign to tell you when to move. That is the difference between a horoscope and a system you can actually use.

Numerology calculator: common questions
Is this numerology calculator free?
Yes. The GG33 numerology calculator is completely free. Enter your birth date and it instantly returns your Life Path number, your Chinese zodiac sign and element, and your personal year for the current year.
How is my Life Path number calculated?
Add every digit of your full birth date, the month, day, and year, then keep reducing the total until you reach a single digit. The exception is the master numbers 11, 22, and 33, which are kept rather than reduced.
What is my Chinese zodiac sign if I was born in January?
The Chinese sign changes at Chinese New Year, not January 1, so a January or early-February birthday often belongs to the previous year's animal. This calculator uses the correct new-year date for your birth year, so your sign is right.
What is a personal year?
Your personal year is your own numerology cycle for the current year, found by adding your birth month and birth day to the current year and reducing to a single digit. It tells you whether this is a season to start, build, change, or release.
